Winding Down

Now I know that this has not been kept up as well as it could have been but we cannot always sit at the computer to garden now can we.

I think the summer vegie season is drawing to a close. Still a lot of Tomatillos to harvest. I had my first ever toma harvest today.. Woo Hoo! And ther are still at least 150 more of these babies on the vine!

Cukes sorta gave out to the extra moisture and cocked it. Zukes may still yet have another spurt left as they were showing signs of recovery over the last week or two.

Have bulbs on order(great furndraiser for the school)for more flowering areas. I will look into winter veg over thenext few weeks as well. I will need to put some energy into the greenhouse for over wintering some chile plants as well. The lawn itself has become a bit more green from the extensive rain.

I am actually quite excited as the winter work is what will make next summer a success. After a late start to the season having moved in long after the season began I think we accomplished more than we could have expected.
So bring on the winter!!!!

I have cleared Zone 5
and it will soon be a great little spot to sit and enjoy life.

Still growing

Tomatillos and some of the crops. I am a bit worried that the cucumbers and Zuchini plants arent liking all this rain(really need it though). I will have to keep an eye on soil drainage perhaps.... their leaves are all yellowy and sort of white mildewish. I certainly hope not to lose them but the tomatillos are still going strong. These photos are actually a couple of weeks old. Nearly ready to harvest the beets as well.
